Tory party admits gathering took place at its HQ last December

The Tory party has admitted that a gathering took place in the party’s Westminster HQ on the 14th of December last year while Covid-19 restrictions were still in place.

The Times stated that the party took place in the basement of the HQ and was attended by No 10 aides and featured dancing and wine drinking into the early hours despite Tier 2 restrictions being in place at the time, which banned indoor social mixing.

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson is currently under increasing pressure as he faces further questions in relation to a gathering organised by Conservative aides last December.

The further details of the gathering came as Labour insisted that police launch an investigation into the allegations that Covid-19 restrictions were breached during the event in No 10.

Labour added that it was implausible for Scotland Yard to suggest that there is insufficient evidence available to launch an investigation.

An Aide for Boris Johnson ‘Allegra Stratton’ made an emotional resignation after video footage emerged of her joking with other advisors about restrictions days after the event took place.

As a result of the gathering held by the Tories, four Conservative Campaign Headquarters staff face formal disciplinary action, according to a Tory spokesman.
