8,000 people still without power following Storm Barra

Around 8,000 ESB customers still remain without power this morning as a result of Storm Barra.

ESB stated that the company is continuing with its repairs operation and has restored power to over 52,000 customers so far.


With Storm Barra bringing high winds; many homes, farms and businesses have been left without power.

Many coastal areas including Cork, Kerry and Wexford are still dealing with faults, with the ESB stating that they are working as fast as they can to address the issue.

As well as power cuts, boil water notices have been issued as a precautionary by Irish Water.


Three notices have been issued to Kerry, one in Cork, one in Donegal and one in Wexford. These boil water notices will be reviewed over the coming days.
