Man hospitalised with serious injuries following shooting in Tallaght

A man has been hospitalised following a shooting that occurred this afternoon in south Dublin.

The incident occurred at Cookstown Cottages, Tallaght at around 12:10pm and it’s understood that the man was the only injured party.


Emergency services including Gardaí and Dublin Fire Brigade attended the scene where the man is believed to have suffered gunshot wounds with injuries to his neck and upper body.

According to The Independent.ie, a vehicle that was discovered nearby had a suspected firearm inside and it’s being investigated if this was linked to the incident.

Gardaí are also investigating reports that the man who set the vehicle on fire also set himself on fire. It’s understood that Gardaí remain at the scene of the shooting.
