An Italian man in his 50s was caught using a fake arm while being administered the Covid-19 vaccine.
The incident, involving a silicone limb, was reported to local police last night in Biella.
Head of the Piedmont regional Government Albert Cirio stated on Facebook, “The case borders on the ridiculous, if it were not for the fact we are talking about a gesture of enormous gravity”.
He added that the act was “unacceptable faced with the sacrifice that our entire community has paid during the pandemic, in terms of human lives, the social and economic cost.”
The incident comes as Italy enforces further restrictions for unvaccinated individuals.
Since August, a Green Pass showing proof of vaccination, recent recovery from Covid or a negative test has been required for indoor dining, museums, cinemas, theatres and to attend sporting events.
However, a new Super Green Pass is only available to those who have been vaccinated or recently recovered from Covid-19.
