The Cabinet committee on Covid-19 will meet today to consider the latest restrictions which are being proposed by the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET).
The recommendations were contained in a letter to Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly from Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Tony Holohan.
Among the measures being recommended are limits on household gatherings, and further restrictions being imposed on the hospitality sector.
Further limitations on hospitality being proposed by NPHET include table service, multiple table bookings being discontinued and the number of people allowed at a table being limited to six people.
NPHET also proposed once again to extend the use of the Digital Covid-19 Certificate to other sectors.
This plan was rejected by Government a few weeks ago.
