Ceann Comhairle to return to Leinster House after isolation period

Ceann Comhairle Seán Ó Fearghaíl will be returning to work in Leinster House this week after completing his period of isolation.

After testing positive for the virus over a week ago, Seán Ó Fearghaíl has been working from home during his time in isolation.

During this time, his duties were overtaken by Leas-Cheann Comhairle Catherine Connolly and the normal panel of temporary chairpersons had taken over his duties in Leinster House during that time.

It remains the position of the Oireachtas that the Dáil and Seanad will remain in Leinster House and that no consideration is being given to returning to the Convention Centre Dublin.
