Garth Brooks to play five Croke Park concerts next year after DCC grants permission

With tickets for two confirmed shows going on sale this morning and already gathering over 280,000 people queuing online for them, Garth Brooks will now be playing five gigs next year at Croke Park.

This follows permission being granted by Dublin City Council (DCC) who initially prevented five shows from going ahead back in 2014, resulting in all five shows being cancelled.

Within one hour of tickets for his first two shows being sold for the 9th and 10th of September, a third date was announced for September 11th.

It has now been announced that the country star will play an extra two shows on top of this on the 16th and 17th of September next year, bringing the total to five shows.

Ed Sheeran will also be playing two shows at the stadium next year.

While speaking in Dublin ahead of the tickets going on sale, Brooks said that he would love to play five shows but said that what happened in 2014 with the 400,000 tickets being sold was a “miracle” and that it would be impossible to do it again.
