Gardaí are treating the death of a 65-year-old man in Dublin as murder after his body was discovered yesterday.
The body of Christopher Hall was found by his daughter with serious head and body injuries in a downstairs room of his home at Dún Saithne Green in Balbriggan.
A post-mortem examination is currently underway, however, detectives believe Hall was the victim of an attack.
It’s suspected that he may have known his killer and unwittingly let them into his house as there were no signs of a break-in or burglary.
Known as a quiet man who lived alone, Hall had two adult daughters and was victim to an incident last year where he fell and hit his head, however, he was still out and about following this incident.
CCTV footage is currently under examination by Gardaí while house-to-house inquiries are being carried out in the Dún Saithne estate.
As well as believing that his death was the result of an assault, Gardaí do not believe that the attack was random and that Halls may have known his killer.
A murder investigation remains underway.
