Man found alive after spending night in morgue freezer

An Indian man, who was declared dead following a road accident, was found alive inside a morgue freezer where he spent an entire night.

Srikesh Kumar was hit by a motorbike in Moradabad and rushed to hospital in critical condition.

After being transported to a private medical facility, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival, he was taken to a Government hospital for a post-mortem on Friday.

The hospital’s medical superintendent Rajendra Kumar stated, “The emergency medical officer examined him. He did not find any signs of life and hence declared him dead”.

His body was placed in the morgue freezer until his family arrived six hours later.

It’s understood that the 45-year-old is undergoing further treatment and was still in a coma, according to Rajendra Kumar who described the incident as being “nothing short of a miracle”.

An investigation is underway to determine how doctors mistakenly declared him dead.
