US President Joe Biden resumes presidential duties following health checkup

US President Joe Biden has resumed presidential duties following an annual health check.

It’s understood that Biden was under anaesthesia for a routine colonoscopy as part of his annual physical.

During the health check, power was transferred to Vice President Kamala Harris, who held the presidency for 1.25 hours, according to The White House.

Turning 79 years old on Saturday, Joe Biden is the oldest person to take office as president in US history.

The White House stated that the results of Biden’s checkup will be made public later.

Biden, who does not drink or smoke, was described as “a healthy, vigorous, 77-year-old male, who is fit to successfully execute the duties of the presidency” by his physician in a letter published in December 2019.

The letter also states that Biden worked out at least five times a week and it’s also understood that presently, Biden has received a Covid-19 booster vaccine dose as well as being double-dosed.
