A long time ago, the phrase “Politicians are liars” would have gotten you a lot of surprised and shocked looks from people who invested their faith in leaders that promised to make a difference.
However, this saying has well and truly emerged from its initial stages of triggering awkward silences and appalled stares to the mainstream clichés of politics.
Eventually, it became apparent that politicians either can’t or don’t stay true to the initial pledges that got them elected in the first place.
But it seems that these unfulfilled promises simply just drift away without any form of contentment.
Do you think the media should hold politicians accountable for promises they don’t keep? Or should we just accept that not all promises can be kept?
