Man arrested after young woman struck in the face with firework in Galway

Gardaí have arrested a man in his 20s as part of their investigation into an incident last month, involving a young woman being struck in the face with a firework in Galway.

The incident occurred in Eyre Square just after midnight on October 22nd.


Gardaí said the woman was sitting at a bus stop before being struck by the firework.

Gardaí said at the time the woman suffered severe injuries and was taken by ambulance to hospital after the incident.

The man in his 20s is currently being detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a South Dublin Garda station.


Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
