Elderly man (70s) dies following serious collision in Tipperary

Investigations are ongoing following a fatal road collision in Tipperary where a man in his 70s was killed.

The incident occurred earlier today at approximately 4:15pm on Main Street in Borrisoleigh.


The man is understood to have been the only occupant in the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road currently remains closed while Gardaí carry out a forensic examination and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them.


They are also appealing to anyone with dash-cam footage or any video footage of the area at the time of the incident to make it available to them.

Anyone with any information in relation to the incident is asked to contact Thurles Garda Station at 0504 25100.
