Gardaí urging witnesses to come forward after man assaulted outside Kerry hospital

Gardaí are appealing for information after a man in his 60s was allegedly assaulted outside University Hospital Kerry in Tralee last Sunday.

The man sustained a head injury in the course of the incident with “hospital personnel” outside the hospital entrance.


Following the incident, which occurred at approximately 7pm, the man was treated at the hospital, according to Gardaí.

He has since been transferred to Cork University Hospital where his condition has been described as serious.

Gardaí are appealing to witnesses or anyone who was in the vicinity of the hospital entrance between 5pm and 8pm to contact them.


They are also appealing to anyone with dash-cam footage or any camera footage to make it available to them.

Anyone with information in relation to the incident is asked to contact Tralee Garda Station at 066 710 2300, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
