Government to seek more detail on NPHET advice to extend use of ‘Covid Pass’

The Government will seek more detailed advice from the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) on where the Digital Covid-19 Certificate could be used outside of hospitality.

The issue will be discussed by Cabinet ministers on Monday evening, where the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Tony Holohan will meet with senior ministers.

These meetings are also usually attended by NPHET’s Professor Philip Nolan and Health Service Executive CEO Paul Reid.

Government is hoping that a detailed breakdown of where the Covid Pass could be used will be provided by NPHET.

The CMO did mention the possibility of Covid-19 passes for gyms, hairdressers and barbers.
