France marks sixth anniversary of Paris terrorist attacks

France has marked its sixth anniversary of the 2015 terrorist attacks that occurred in Paris where 130 people lost their lives to Islamic State militants. #

On the night of November 13th 2015, militants targeted bars, restaurants and the Bataclan concert hall.

The attacks marked the beginning of a series of suicide bomb/gunman attacks that would take place throughout Europe and the UK.

Twenty men went on trial back in September in relation to the attacks in Paris.

Believed to be the only surviving member of the attacks, Salah Abdeslam is also among the twenty men who are going on trial in relation to the attacks.

The 32-year-old French-Moroccan was part of the group that were either killed by police or died via suicide bombing.

The other 19 suspects who are on trial, are accused of helping to provide guns and vehicles for the attacks or playing a role in organising the attacks.

Many of the accused face life imprisonment if convicted.
