NPHET to advise Government that people should work from home whenever possible

The National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) is expected to advise the Government that people should work from home whenever it’s possible as Covid-19 cases surge.

Government sources have indicated that a letter has not yet been received from NPHET but they are expected to strengthen public health messaging as Christmas looms closer, asking people to reduce their social contacts.

NPHET met this afternoon to discuss the current situation in relation to Covid-19 and it’s understood that they will be recommending working from home for those who can do so.

A source has stated that there is no mandatory work from home order from NPHET and that businesses are not being asked to shut down.

It’s understood that NPHET is more focused on reducing social contacts and asking people to work from home where possible.

“The message is that if people don’t need to be in work then ideally they would not be.”
