Woman (40s) dies following collision between car and truck in Meath

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision between a car and a truck in Meath yesterday afternoon.

The incident occurred in the Gibbstown area on the Bush Road at approximately 4:40pm.


The woman, who was the driver and only occupant of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her body was removed from the scene and taken to Our Lady’s Hospital in Navan to undergo a post-mortem examination at a later date.

The driver of the truck is understood to have been uninjured. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is being asked to contact Gardaí.


Gardaí are also appealing to any road users in possession of dash-cam footage to make it available to them.
