No discussions about reimposing restrictions in Government – Donnelly

Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly has said there is currently no discussions in Government about reimposing Covid-19 restrictions.

“That conversation hasn’t been had by Government,” he said.

The update comes as Donnelly hit out at hospitality businesses who are not complying with the Covid Certificate requirement, as it emerged that less businesses were complying than the previous month.

He said there should be “urgent sanctions” for businesses who do not comply with regulations.

“We should be looking at more urgent sanctions for those businesses not doing the right thing,” he said.

The Minister continued to say that people should pull back from discretionary contacts over the coming weeks to cut transmission of the virus.

Today it was also confirmed that antigen tests will be rolled out in schools for students who are close contacts.
