Three seriously injured following knife attack on German train

At least three people have been seriously injured following a knife attack that occurred on a train in Germany.

According to a spokesperson from Oberpfalz police authority, the attack occurred on an ICE train and one man has been arrested.


Police stated that there was no evidence of other attackers being at large.

German news outlet Bild said three people were injured on the train but a specific number of injuries has yet to be confirmed.

Approximately 200 people were evacuated from the train which was stopped in Seubersdorf.


An investigation into the incident remains ongoing.

Interior Minister Horst Seehofer said the motive behind the attack was still unclear and has yet to be established.
