21-year-old man killed following car crash in Galway

A 21-year-old man has died following a single-vehicle road collision in Galway.

The incident occurred on the N59 in Corcullen, Moycullen, shortly after 2:30am on Sunday morning.


The man was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has been removed to University Hospital Galway for a post-mortem examination to take place.

The N59 at Corcullen is currently closed for technical examination, and diversions are currently in place.


Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and anyone with footage – including dashcam footage – and were travelling in the area between 2:00am and 2:30am on Sunday morning to make contact with them.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
