UK Labour leader Keir Starmer tests positive for Covid-19

British Labour Party leader Keir Starmer has tested positive for Covid-19, it has emerged.

Starmer was replaced by Labour’s Business spokesperson Ed Miliband at Prime Minister’s Questions, due to Keir Starmer self-isolating.

Yesterday, the House of Commons ordered everyone except MPs will have to wear face coverings as a result of rising Covid-19 cases.

However, MPs will be encouraged to wear a face covering in the House of Commons while not speaking.

A large amount of MPs wore masks in the House today.

Health Secretary Sajid Javid had committed to wearing a face covering when it is packed on Budget Day, and encouraged other politicians to lead by example.

However, Javid further said that wearing a face covering is a personal decision for ministers and back benchers to make for themselves.
