Tickets for nightclubs and venues must be purchased at least one hour before arrival

Digital tickets must be booked at least one hour before arrival at nightclubs and live venues under the new ticketing system.

Live sector representatives were told by Government officials that no congregation will be permitted at the entrance to a venue, only ticket holders will be allowed in queues.

Regulations for the ticketing system will be published by Government on Thursday.

It is understood that the new system will come into effect on Thursday.

However, representatives from nightlife sectors have expressed concern about the difficulty to implement such measures the same day.

Industry representatives have also requested a two-week grace period to give them time to implement the system.

Further negotiations are due to take place over the coming days.
