Recent figures have revealed that the number of patients in hospitals receiving treatment for Covid-19 has surpassed 500.
As of 8am this morning, there were a total of 513 Covid-19 patients in hospital, which is an increase of 16 when compared to the same time yesterday.
Of the 513 people receiving hospital treatment for Covid-19, there are 99 people who are being treated in ICU, which is the highest that ICU figures have been since March.
Yesterday, the Department of Health confirmed a further 1,845 cases of Covid-19 in Ireland.
Meanwhile, as of the 23rd of October, there have been 7,333,353 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine administered in Ireland.
A total of 3,565,267 people have received their first dose while 3,503,320 people have received their second dose.
A total of 236,148 people have received a single-dose vaccine such as the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. In relation to immunocompromised individuals; 28,618 people have received their third dose.
