WATCH: Should nightclubs reopen without any restrictions?

Last Friday, nightclubs and late bars were permitted to reopen in Ireland for the first time in nineteen months.

The original plan created by the Irish Government, and accepted by the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) granted nightclubs to reopen without any restrictions on October 22nd.

However, following a spike in cases of Covid-19, and ultimately hospitalisations, NPHET advised Government to take a more cautious approach in reopening.

New restrictions announced by Government will make nightclubs in Ireland ticket-only events, meaning people will need to book a nightclub in advance of going out.

Likewise, people will be required to show their Digital Covid-19 Certificate before gaining entry.

There will also be a requirement to wear a face covering, except while sitting down and dancing.

INTRA asked the Irish public if they believe nightclubs should be permitted to reopen without any restrictions.
