Sinn Féin is the most popular political party in Ireland, according to latest poll

Sinn Féin is currently the most popular political party in Ireland, according to the lates poll carried out by Red C and the Sunday Business Post.

Sinn Féin are up by 4 points to 33%, giving them a substantial lead over Fine Gael.


Fine Gael are down 3% to 25%.

Fianna Fáil remain well behind the leading two parties, suffering a further 1% drop in support to just 12%.

The Social Democrats increased support by 1% to 6% of the overall share, while the Labour Party remained at 5%.


The Green Party also suffered a 1% drop, bringing their total to 4%.

The combined vote of the three parties in Government – Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and the Green Party – is just 41%, which is the lowest figure it has been since the Government was formed.
