Gardaí are renewing an appeal to help identify human remains found on Wexford beach in December 1995.

On December 12th, 1995, Gardaí were alerted following the discovery of a decomposed body at Ballinamona beach in Wexford.

The remains were removed to Waterford Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Foul play was ruled out following the examination.

The pathologist reported that the remains were of a female between the age of 25 and 40, who was approximately 176 centimetres in height and who had undergone a lot of dental treatment, including braces fitted to her bottom teeth.

When she was discovered she was wearing a pair of blue jeans – size 33/31 – and brown laced shoes – size 39 – with white socks. Two Volkswagen keys were also found in her pocket.

Investigating gardaí are renewing their appeal to the public for assistance in identifying the deceased and in bringing this case to a conclusion.
