Former politician Rémy Daillet-Wiedemann has been charged with terrorism over a plot to attack vaccination centres as well as a masonic lodge, according to authorities.
He has already been accused of masterminding the kidnapping of an eight-year-old girl back in April.
It was found that the attack was carried out by a group of extreme-right wing supporters.
After overstaying his visa in Malaysia, Daillet-Wiedemann was deported back to France where he was arrested.
The new allegations have since emerged and involve many people in the same extremist group that carried out the kidnapping.
Lawyer Jean-Christophe Basson-Larbi described his client as a political prisoner.
He said that Daillet – Wiedemann had called for a peaceful end to the political system and retained his faith in French justice despite the charges against him.
