Young woman seriously injured after being struck in the face by firework in Galway

Investigations are ongoing after a young woman sustained serious injuries following an incident involving a firework in Galway.

The incident occurred shortly after midnight in Galway’s Eyre Square where the woman is understood to have been standing at a bus stop.

While standing at the bus stop, a firework was launched from across the street near the Tourist Information Kiosk.
