Witnesses urged to come forward after man (30s) dies following Meath collision

A man in his 30s has died following a fatal car collision that occurred in Carnacross, Kells, Co. Meath.

The incident occurred last night at approximately 9:30pm, where gardaí had responded to reports of a car colliding with the back of a truck that was parked on the roadside.

The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene following the collision.

An examination is currently underway by gardaí and the R147 road between Kells and Virginia is closed.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact gardaí.

Gardaí are also appealing to any road users who were travelling between Kells and Virginia last night between the hours 9pm and 10pm who are in possession of dash-cam footage to contact them.
