Here are the restrictions being eased in Ireland from Friday

It was originally planned that this Friday, October 22nd, would see the majority of restrictions being eased in Ireland.

However, a recent spike in cases and hospitalisations caused the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) and Government to take a more cautious approach.

It’s not quite Freedom Day after all…

Here are the restrictions being eased from Friday:

Indoor Hospitality

  • EU Digital Certs will be required for indoor dining
  • Table service is only permitted
  • Maximum of 10 adults per table
  • Face masks must be worn unless eating or drinking

  • Specific sectoral guidance is due to be developed for nightclubs, establishing approved protective measures
  • EU Digital Certs, contact tracing data collection and wearing of face masks except when eating, drinking and dancing will apply
  • Dancing will be permitted, but social distancing measures will be implemented

Weddings & Services

  • Weddings and Religious Services will be permitted to open without capacity limits
  • All current protective measures must remain in place

Indoor Live Events

  • For indoor live events – sports, music or entertainment – audience members should be fully seated
  • Standing is permitted while at your seat
  • Organisers of indoor activities should ensure protective measures are in place

These new regulations will take effect from Friday, October 22nd.
