24-year-old Irish man found dead in pool in Spain

A 24-year-old Irish man has been found dead in a pool in the Costa del Sol resort in Marbella.

Friends of the 24-year-old discovered him lifeless in the water at a luxury holiday home on Friday morning after getting up following a night out.


Police and paramedics rushed to the house, but nothing could be done and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The alarm was raised at approximately 10:25am.

The Department of Foreign Affairs are aware of the incident and are providing consular assistance.


The dead man has not yet been named.

A post-mortem is expected to take place this weekend at the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Malaga.
