NPHET to examine data amid concerns over rising cases

The National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) will be examining data amid concerns over rising Covid-19 cases in Ireland.

Concerns were expressed at a meeting of the Senior Officials Group on Covid-19 about whether the figures represent a blip or trend, according to RTÉ.

NPHET will be meeting on Monday to discuss the trends in relation to rising Covid-19 cases and discuss with the government what the best plan is to proceed.

Some officials have stated that there are concerns over the rise in complacency and that there is a perception among some members of the public that the pandemic is over.

NPHET will be intricately examining the data, which will include any indications that the protection from full vaccination may be trailing down for some people who were vaccinated earlier on in the campaign.
