Minister of Health Stephen Donnelly was forced to self-isolate after experiencing Covid-19 symptoms.
The Department of Health released a statement on Wednesday, saying Donnelly was experiencing mild symptoms in line with Covid-19.
Following experiencing the symptoms, Donnelly self-isolated and organised a Covid-19 test, which did not detect the virus.
The Department of Health said Donnelly will continue to follow public health advice and work from home.
The Department of Health’s Budget 2022 conference has been postponed as a result, which was due to take place on Wednesday afternoon.
The conference will now take place on Thursday, October 14th via videolink.
“The Department of Health’s Budget 2022 press conference is being rescheduled to tomorrow, Thursday 14th October and will now take place by video conference – an updated media notice will issue in due course.”
“Minister Donnelly has experienced mild symptoms of Covid-19. As per public health advice, Minister Donnelly immediately self-isolated and arranged a test which has returned a ‘not detected’ result.”
