UK police will not be pursuing any further legal action against Prince Andrew following a review by a Jeffrey Epstein accuser.
Virginia Giuffre is suing Andrew for allegedly sexually assaulting her when she was a teenager after being trafficked by Epstein.
Epstein, who was Andrew’s former friend, is alleged to have trafficked Giuffre when she was 17 years old, which is a minor in the US.
UK officers were asked to review allegations connected to Epstein after Metropolitan Police Commissioner Cressida Dick was asked about the reported US legal action back in August.
She was questioned about the claims of sexual assault against Andrew on a radio interview, to which she said, “no-one is above the law”.
Metropolitan Police made a statement yesterday that read, “As a matter of procedure MPS officers reviewed a document released in August 2021 as part of a US civil action. This review has concluded and we are taking no further action.”
UK police also completed a review into allegations reported in June by Channel 4 that Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s former girlfriend, had trafficked, groomed and abused women and girls in the UK.
The force also stated that it will continue to liaise with other law enforcement agencies into matters associated with Epstein.
