Approximately 16,000 chickens killed following devastating fire at Fermanagh farm

Approximately 16,000 chickens have died following a fire that broke out at a farm in Co. Fermanagh.

The fire broke out at around 7:26am this morning in a farm shed in Belcoo.


The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service responded to the incident at Marble Arch Road, requiring the use of a water tanker and other appliances to extinguish the fire.

Conditions became quite difficult during the incident, causing firefighters to use breathing apparatuses and water jets to extinguish the fire.

The fire was eventually brought under control at around 3:50pm this afternoon.


An investigation into the cause of the fire currently remains ongoing.
