Callum Robinson scores two as Ireland overcomes Azerbaijan comfortably

The Republic of Ireland has secured a 3-0 victory in the World Cup Qualifiers against Azerbaijan.

Callum Robinson won man of the match after a sterling performance which seen him grab two goals, with plenty of opportunities to grab the hat-rick.

Robinson was subject to negative press earlier in the week after he disclosed he remains unvaccinated, despite having been diagnosed with Covid-19 twice.

However, the negative press clearly had little impact on Robinson and spurred him on to win man of the match.

Stephen Kenny has now secured his first competitive win in charge of Ireland.

This win will allow Ireland to push on and continue to keep the positive momentum into the next fixture, a friendly against Qatar next Tuesday in the Aviva Stadium.
