COVID-19: 1,207 new confirmed cases in Ireland

The Department of Health has confirmed a further 1,207 cases of Covid-19 in Ireland.

Deaths are being announced weekly due to the HSE data breach in May – as of last Wednesday, 5,280 people have died with Covid-19 in Ireland.


The Department further confirmed that there are currently 355 patients in Irish hospitals with Covid-19, with 69 in ICU.

Yesterday, there were 343 patients in Irish hospitals with Covid-19, with 70 in ICU.

In Northern Ireland, there has been a further 1,305 cases of Covid-19 reported.


Four further people diagnosed with the virus have also died.
