COVID-19: 1,124 new cases confirmed in Ireland with 349 hospitalisations

The Department of Health has confirmed a further 1,124 new cases of Covid-19 in Ireland.

As of 8am this morning, there were 349 patients in hospital who were undergoing treatment for Covid-19.


Of the 349 patients receiving hospital treatment, 65 were in ICU.

Yesterday, case numbers were below 1,000 for the first time since mid-July, with 892 cases reported.

Yesterday’s figures also reveal that there were 333 people in hospital receiving treatment for the virus with 64 in ICU.


Covid-19 deaths are being announced on a weekly basis due to the HSE data breach back in May.

As of Wednesday, there have been 5,249 Covid-19 deaths reported.
