Woman (20s) hospitalised following serious incident on Luas tracks

A woman in her 20s has been seriously injured following an incident that occurred on the Luas tracks on Dawson Street last night.

The young woman was cycling on Dawson Street when she fell off her bicycle and onto the Luas tracks.


It’s understood that the incident occurred at approximately 8:25pm, according to gardaí.

Emergency services attended the scene of the incident and sealed off the road, resulting in Luas services between St. Stephen’s Green and O’Connell Street Upper being stopped.

The woman was rushed to St. James’ Hospital to receive treatment for her injuries which have been described as serious.


The road has since been reopened.
