€500 voucher for frontline staff looking likely for pandemic bonus

A tax-free voucher of up to €500 is now on the table for frontline workers as a reward for working during the pandemic.

An extra Bank Holiday now seems certain before the end of the year as a reward for everyone’s efforts throughout the pandemic.

Teachers are the latest group to demand that they be included in the pandemic bonus.

The Government is becoming increasingly worried that the divisive reward will end up causing backlash.

The latest idea looking likely is a voucher for frontline workers, worth anything from €250 to €500.

Private and public sector workers would both benefit from an official Bank Holiday, only frontline public workers will receive the bonus.
