COVID-19: 1,453 new confirmed cases in Ireland

The Department of Health has confirmed a further 1,453 cases of Covid-19 in Ireland.

Deaths are being announced weekly due to the HSE data breach in May – as of today, a total of 5,249 people have died with Covid-19 in Ireland.


The Department further confirmed that there are currently 300 patients in Irish hospitals with Covid-19, with 60 in ICU.

Yesterday, there were 300 patients in Irish hospitals with Covid-19, with 63 in ICU.

In Northern Ireland, there has been a further 1,320 cases of Covid-19 reported.


Two further people diagnosed with the virus have also died.
