President Joe Biden gets Covid-19 booster vaccine

US President Joe Biden has received his Covid-19 booster vaccine, days after US regulators recommended a third dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine for Americans over 65-years-old.

“The most important thing we need to do is get more people vaccinated,” Biden said.

The 78-year-old President got his first vaccine on December 21st last year, and his second dose three weeks later in early January.

On Friday, the centres for Disease Control and Prevention and the Food and Drug Administration authorised the Pfizer booster for all Americans aged 65 and older.

Biden took to Twitter after getting his booster vaccine.

“The COVID-19 booster shots will provide even more protection from COVID-19 for those who are at greater risk,” he said.

“That’s why today, I got my booster — and encourage everyone who’s eligible to do so as well.”
