POLL: Should frontline workers get a pandemic bonus?

On October 22nd, the majority of remaining Covid-19 restrictions will be lifted in Ireland, with everyone hoping the worst of the pandemic is in the past.

Gratitude was shown to frontline workers, including those who worked in transport and retail settings, throughout the worst points of the pandemic.

The discourse has now shifted towards how to reward frontline workers, who worked throughout the pandemic dealing with the public.

It is expected an extra Bank Holiday will be formed in Ireland before the end of 2021, to reward everyone for their contribution during the pandemic.

However, it is also expected that frontline workers will be granted a gift, in the form of a payment or additional leave, for their noted contribution throughout the previous eighteen months.
