COVID-19: Decrease in number of patients receiving hospital treatment

According to recent figures, there has been a decrease in the number of patients who are receiving hospital treatment for Covid-19.

As of 8am this morning, there were 282 patients with the virus being treated in hospital, which is down 15 from the same time yesterday morning.

However, there has been a slight increase in ICU numbers, with 65 people receiving ICU treatment as of 11:30am this morning, which is up four from the same time yesterday.

Meanwhile, the Covid-19 booster vaccine administration is beginning from next week, with people being notified of their appointment from Wednesday while the vaccine administration will begin on Friday.

It has been reported that plans are being drawn up for the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) to consider ending routine tracing from next month.
