Man (50s) in serious condition following Waterford City assault

A man in his 50s is in a serious but stable condition following an assault in Waterford City last night.

The incident occurred on Hanover Street shortly before 9pm last night.


The man was taken to Waterford University Hospital where his condition has been described as serious but stable, according to gardaí.

Gardaí are currently investigating the incident and are urging witnesses to come forward.

They are also urging anyone with video footage of the area at the time of the incident to make it available to them.
