For the first time in 18 months, thousands of workers will be returning to the office from today as the further easing of Covid-19 restrictions takes place.
Many of these workers have been confined to the boundaries of their homes since the start of the pandemic as they had to partake in remote working to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
In a decision that was quite literally made overnight, office workers and their employers were forced to adapt to a new method of working.
However, 18 months later this can now be left in the past as 90% of the Irish population over the age of 16 is now fully vaccinated.
The government might be implementing a staggered and phased return for office workers due to specific business requirements.
Employees will still be required to abide by Work Safety Protocols such as social distancing, the wearing of facial coverings in certain circumstances and ensuring that adequate ventilation and hand hygiene is in place.
Pre-pandemic office capacity may be temporarily curtailed and work-around measures will have to be adopted by employers where distancing cannot be maintained.
