A woman has been charged with murdering her three children in New Zealand just weeks after the family arrived in the country from South Africa.
Lauren Anne Dickason appeared in court in the city of Timaru this morning after being charged with killing her three daughters.
She was remanded to a hospital for a mental health evaluation, according to a court spokesperson.
The 40-year-old was charged with killing her two-year-old twins and their six-year-old sister.
The three bodies were discovered at a property where the family was staying after leaving quarantine last week.
Police have stated that they are not seeking anyone else in relation to the deaths of the three girls and have described it as a tragic isolated incident.
Dickason, who is understood to be a doctor, will appear in court again on the 5th of October.
