51 patients in Ireland who are fully vaccinated were admitted to Intensive Care Units (ICU) in Ireland since April of this year.
This comes as the number of patients admitted to hospital with Covid-19 rose to 73 yesterday, which is the highest it’s been since early July.
301 patients in Ireland with Covid-19 were treated in ICU since April 1st to last Saturday.
The majority of the 301 patients admitted to ICU were unvaccinated or were partially vaccinated.
Among the 51 people who were fully vaccinated and admitted to ICU, 10 ended up dying.
The ages of those fully vaccinated ranged from 30-86.
All but two of these who had a breakthrough infection were reported to have an underlying medical problem.
