Three young children from South Africa allegedly murdered in New Zealand

Three young children who had just migrated to New Zealand from South Africa have been discovered dead.

Police have said they are treating the incident as murder.


The incident occurred late on Thursday at a home in the South Island town of Timaru.

Emergency services further said that a woman found at the same scene is now in stable condition in hospital.

Police said the children were a seven-year-old and three-year-old twins.


All those involved had just moved out of the mandatory hotel quarantine facilities in New Zealand in the past week, after moving from South Africa.

Police further said the investigation is in its early stages and they could not yet release many details, including the names of the children and how they died.
